Week 4 Student Teaching

Today went by SO FAST. It was super crazy because it was a Monday but also was super productive. The students did a finding evidence lesson today where they had to listen, read, and find evidence to support a claim. All of the claims were based on being unjust (we're talking about Rosa Parks). I monitored mostly on what students were doing, if they were on task, and redirected them. Some kids were trying to sleep today so I tried to redirect them without having other students notice I was talking to them.
After the students left today, Miss Vega and I planned on how we were going to co-teach on Wednesday for my observation. So far, we plan to go back and forth with the text, questions, and work book activity so I can get some action time. I still need to establish a start time in order to start my phasing in. I am going to talk to Miss Vega tomorrow during planning to get her opinion and idea on what we should do. We also have a TBT tomorrow and it'll be my first time attending one!
The rest of this week was very crazy. It went by so fast because we were so busy. I was so excited to get feedback on how I was teaching in the classroom. I tried to speak louder for the next class and the following days. Miss Vega did give me positive feedback about my voice level after I talked to her so I feel better about how I am projecting. I am feeling so much better about being in front of the classroom too. The longer I stay in the classroom with each switch, the better I feel about taking over.
Overall, I feel like this week was amazing with my growth. I feel so good about using the teacher guide while teaching as I am now familiar with the content and how it's written. I know I have so much room to grow but I am going to use my notes, these journals, and my CPAST to see my growth and use it as motivation to keep going.
